This beautiful knife was hand-forged by Yoshimi Kato, son-in-law of Hiroshi Kato. He was an apprentice to Kanehiro and Hiroshi-San, so he learned forging from the best. In addition to the knives he makes for Masakage, he also has his own series.

Aogami Super Carbon steel with damask
This knife is made of razor-sharp carbon Aogami Super steel with a hardness of 63 HRC Rockwell. The blade has a Kurouchi finish with 11 layers of stainless steel damask underneath. The damask layers protect the hard core while the Kurouchi layer reduces food sticking while cutting.
walnut handle
The handle has a traditional octagonal shape (octagon), this ensures a stable grip even with wet hands. It is made of walnut wood with a head of buffalo horn.
