The Sakai Takayuki 33 layers is one of their most popular series. The hard VG10 steel is protected by 32 layers of stainless damask steel visible on the blade. After forging, the knives are worked with a hammer (Tsuchime in Japanese) which ensures that food sticks less while cutting. As a final step, the knives are hand sharpened so that each knife comes out of the box sharp.
The handle has a Western design and feels familiar in the hand. With this Sakai Takayuki 33 Layers you buy a sharp knife with a nice finish for a reasonable price.
