The Sakai Takayuki 33 Layer Damascus are known for high quality at a competitive price. The knives are made of hard VG10 steel over which 32 layers of damascus are folded. Then they are worked with a hammer (tsuchime) which makes food stick less while cutting. They are re-sharpened by hand so that each knife comes out of the box sharp.
