Peelers: Our favorites

A good peeler is a must-have in every kitchen. It makes the most tedious part of food prep take less time and effort. Yet most people buy a cheap one in a supermarket. That's a shame; a good peeler doesn't have to be expensive.
For those few extra euros, you'll get a much sharper peeler that peels more precisely and faster. Check out our favorites below.

Zena Swiss Rex Peeler €3,50
The classic peeler, also known as the "horseshoe". Often imitated but never the same quality. The carbon steel blade stays sharper for a longer time than stainless steel. The peeler has an eye on the side to remove bad spots from your fruit or vegetable.
The downside of carbon blades is that they can rust, but you can easily prevent this by not using a dishwasher. You won't find a better peeler for this price.

Westmark Famos €4,95
Another classic. Just like the Zena Rex, the Famos is known for its sharpness. The main difference is the design, as this is a smaller peeler with a more vertical design".
Another critical difference is that the blade is stainless steel, so it's dishwasher safe! The Famos has a little knife on the side to remove bad spots. We recommend the Famos for people who like a smaller peeler.

Kai Select 100 € 15,95
Kai is known for their stunning Japanese knives, but they also make great peelers. The Kai Select 100 is the peeler we recommend for customers who want to peel as thinly as possible. It has a blade of high-quality stainless steel. The price is a bit higher, but it peels thinner and stays sharper for longer than all other peelers in this roundup.

Oxo PeelerY
The OXO peeler has a plastic handle with the characteristic OXO soft touch. The slightly larger grip is very comfortable to hold onto and is perfect for people with less strength in their hands. It has a stainless steel blade and a spot remover on the side.

Triangle Peeler right and left-handed €6,95
This peeler from Triangle can't be missed in our top peeler list. This peeler is usable for left- and righthanded use and is a fundamental catering tool.
Global Peeler €54,50
Global, the brand famous for its iconic knives, makes peelers in the same style. They are made with the same stainless steel used in Japanese knives.
Don't be put off by the price. With this peeler, you get four blades to peel regular fruit, fruit with a hard/slippery outside, and two sizes of julienne. It's a real four-in-one deal.
I hope this selection will guide you to the best peeler for you. I'm sure it will make your food prep faster and maybe even fun?
