Cast iron pans are the favorite pans of chefs. They can get very hot and therefore sear meat well. Cast iron pans also make recipes like baked potatoes crispier. Unfortunately, cast iron pans are a bit heavier than cast iron pans (although the Ronneby Bruk ultraLight pans are not that heavy).
Cast iron frying pans are available with different finishes. Le Creuset frying pans have an enamel layer on the inside as protection. This layer makes the pan easy to clean and prevents rusting. The Lodge and Ronneby Bruk frying pans do not have an enamel layer, but are burned in with vegetable oil. This protects the pans from the start and the natural non-stick coating continues to improve with use.
