Nigara Hamono has its origins from Samurai times. For over 350 years, this family has been making swords and knives. The centuries-old tradition has been passed down from father to son, and the current (8th) generation blacksmith is Tsuyoshi Yoshizawa. He is mentored by his father Toshiju and makes exceptional knives.

Nigara Hamono's VG10 series, characterized by its matte polished finish and hammered pattern, shows the exceptional attention to detail. The use of VG10, known for its durability and easy sharpenability, makes these knives special. The core of the knife, protected by multiple layers of softer stainless steel, combines functionality with aesthetics. The unique finish and dimples reduce food sticking while cutting.

Each knife features a stable birchwood handle in an octagonal shape, adding to its uniqueness and ease of use. These knives are a true asset for any avid (hobby) cook who values unique and high-quality knives.
