Makoto Kurosaki's Kodama knives stand out for their unique damask pattern. A mixture of lines and random round figures give the knife a mysterious look. Appropriate because the name Kodama is the Japanese word for the spirits that live in trees. The theme is also reflected in the handle, which is made of rosewood with a head of green pakka wood. The color combination is reminiscent of a tree that the spirits live in.

  • VG-10W with a hardness of 61 HRC
  • Damask pattern
  • Octagon handle of rosewood and pakka wood

The knife is made of VG10W steel. This is a modified version of the VG10 with 0.4% tungsten added. This should keep the knife a bit sharper but we haven't tested this extensively yet. Like the rest of its series, the Makoto is beautifully finished and polished.
