Mac Chef Knives
A relatively unknown name to the average consumer but acclaimed in the professional kitchen. Mac from Japan has a unique line of knives that have a nice price/quality ratio. The difference between the Mac Chef and the Original series is that the knives from the chef series are a bit thicker. This makes them less brittle and they can take more.
The advantages at a glance:
- Made of German stainless steel
- Extra thin blade (2 - 2.5 mm thick)
- Sharpened at a very sharp angle
- pakkahout handle
- not suitable for dishwasher
- Free engraved with name, date or personal message
German Steel / Japanese Quality
Chef series knives are made of Molybdenum Vanadium steel. This steel used by the largest German manufacturers, among others, is easy to turn on. The difference with German knives is that Mac makes the steel even harder (58-59 Rockwell). This keeps the knife extra long sharp. In addition, the knives from the Mac chef series are extra thin. With an average thickness of 2 - 2.5 mm and a sharpened angle of 15 degrees, you can cut razor thin and the knives are razor sharp.
Ergonomic finish.
Now that you have a super-sharp knife you naturally want to cut a lot. Good ergonomics is very important here, and Mac has taken care of this as well. For example, thanks to the thin blade, the knife is very light. Also, there is no bolster on it so you can cut from the beginning to the end of the blade. The handle is made of pakka wood. This is a combination of resin and wood and ensures that the handle cannot crack and stays hygienically clean. So keep the guests coming because preparation will be a fun job from now on.
Sharply priced Japanese knives
We are very excited about the Mac Chef series of knives. The blade is nice and thin so you can cut very precisely. Also, cutting takes much less effort than with thicker knives. The German steel is quickly sharp again after a few touches with a ceramic rod.
