Aubrac Laguiole pocket knife with birch wood
The pocket knives by Laguiole and Aubrac are all works of art. Each knife is completely handmade, sharpened and engraved by the same person. Each of the 14 knife makers have their own hallmark that they engrave on the top of the blade and in the back of the handle.
French knife with Swedish steel
This Laguiole and Aubrac pocket knife has a blade that is effectively 9 cm sharpened. The length (12 cm) officially stated by Laguiole is of the complete blade, part of which is fixed in the handle.
The blade is made of 12c27 Sandvik steel. This type of steel comes from Sweden and is forged to a hardness of 56 - 57 rockwell. This allows the knife to be sharpened sharper and also allows the knife to stay sharp longer.
This model has a birch (bouleau) handle. This type of wood gives it a light color with graceful markings.
