Kei Kobayashi is a master sharpener who sharpens the knives of many well-known blacksmiths. He decided to also forge knives himself and is particularly good at this as well. His knives stand out for their workmanship and sharpness. His knives are very thin (lasers) with a brilliant finish. Every part of the knife is perfectly polished and small details like how the knife is glued into the head show Kei Kobayashi's passion.
This model is made of SG2 powder steel (63-64HRC). The core steel is protected by 2 layers of stainless steel. The knife is nicely rounded and polished at the head and back. You can feel this especially when you grab the knife with a pinch grip.
At least as beautiful is the handle. Made of red lacquered pakka wood. The shape also stands out, this one does not have the standard ocatagon (octagon) shape but a heptagon. It fits in the hand just as nicely, but looks just a little tougher.
This Kei Kobayashi knife is very thin, razor sharp and with its special handle one of the finest knives in our collection, highly recommended.
