This unique knife is the result of a collaboration between Kazoku and Takumi Ikeda. It is hot forged from Takefu V2C steel, a relatively new type of carbon steel with a hardness of 64 HRC. This steel is known for its durability and sharpness retention. The hard core of the knife is encapsulated between two layers of softer carbon steel, a structure known as "sanmai. This provides extra protection and durability.
The knife is finished with a dark kurouchi finish, which is functional in addition to aesthetic value by providing protection against oxidation. The handle has an octagonal shape, which provides a comfortable and firm grip, and is made of high-quality oak wood
