This is the Santoku from Kai's Magoroku Redwood series. This is the Asian counterpart to the European chef's knife. The knife is slightly shorter but has a wide blade that allows you to quickly cut through large portions of meat, fish, vegetables and fruit while keeping your hands protected. The santoku is highly recommended for anyone looking for a slightly shorter universal knife.
Features
- Hardness 58 (HRC rockwell)
- Traditionally shaped rosewood handle
- Head made of polished polypropylene
- Highly polished blade
Affordable sharpness
The Seki Magoroku Redwood brings Kai's renowned quality to an affordable level. The knife is hardened to 58 HRC and sharpened at a sharp angle. This combination allows you to sharpen very precisely and thinly without having to constantly resharpen your knife.
Premium knife for a competitive price
The Magoroku redwood is the premium version of the Kai Wasabi series. For example, the blade is highly polished to ensure less sticking while cutting. The handle is traditionally Japanese shaped (chestnut / D-handle) made of Rosewood. This type of wood is naturally resistant to water. Between the handle and rosewood is a head of polished polypropylene . These knives should not go into the dishwasher because of the wooden handle. They must be washed by hand.
The Redwood series is a good choice for a beginning (home) cook looking for a nice and sharp knife at a nice price.
