The Hatsukokoro are made in Japan by a master blacksmith. A special combination of Damask, Kurouchi and a mirror polish. For connoisseurs a special knife that stands out among the other hundreds of different Japanese models.
The knife is made of Aogami #2 steel hardened to 63 HRC. Over it are folded several layers of carbon damask steel. . He did not polish off the Kurouchi , which is the raw forging skin. This provides a nice contrast to the core which is mirror polished.
The blacksmith works for a large knife factory but releases these as a passion project. He does not want to let people know who he is but from the quality of the knife you can tell that the blacksmith is very skilled and knows exactly how to forge a special knife. We will only get a few of these knives so be on time.
