Trimmer
The main difference between clippers and trimmers is the cutting blade. This is a clipper a
much wider (usually 46 mm). This allows you to shave pieces of hair faster, which is ideal for your head hair. Because
clippers are usually larger, they can also have a more powerful motor. This difference is especially noticeable when you
curly or coarse hair.

A trimmer is mainly used for trimming beard and body hair and for contouring.
working. Because of its compact and light size, you are more maneuverable with a trimmer. The blade is less wide
than that of a clipper so you can easily shave detail. This is also the reason that the trimmer at

these machines shave 0.1 mm short. Perfect for finishing your fades and shaving your neck hair.
Because the shavers shave so short, they cannot be used with longer hair. So you use them next to your
clippers or trimmer.

2. What do you want to use the machine for
Head hair
Do you want to trim your head hair? Then it's best to choose clippers. Clippers have a wider blade
cutting blade (40 to 46 mm), and a powerful motor that lets you go through your head hair effortlessly. So you can
freshen up in minutes.
Facial hair (stubble) / neck hair
Smooth, stubble or a few days of beard. For this, a trimmer is the best choice. Thanks to the narrower blade
(around 30 mm) and compact design you are very maneuverable and can shave very precisely. However, the
machines are less powerful, making them less effective on beards longer than 1 cm.
Beard
We recommend clippers for maintaining a beard longer than 1 cm. Beard hair is the
stiffest hair on your body. Especially if it is longer, it can be difficult to shave it properly. You need
a powerful motor and good blades. Another advantage is that with clippers you have more choice of
of attachment combs with various lengths.
3. Which brand should you choose?
There are many manufacturers, but we only sell Wahl and Moser. The clippers and trimmers are used by numerous professional hair salons and have excellent quality for a competitive price.
Both the American Wahl and German Moser make very solid machines with blades that stay sharp for a long time. remain sharp. Moreover, all parts of these machines are available separately and we can repair the machines in our own repair center. Thus, we replace cutting blades, batteries, cords, housing and charging stations on a weekly basis.
Wahl and Moser
Because Wahl and Moser work together a lot, they combine the best of both worlds and are virtually
equivalent in terms of quality. Yet we see that they still retain their own specialties. Thus
Wahl is just slightly better at making corded hair clippers, while Moser is just slightly better at making trimmers
and clippers with a battery. And we note from the brand loyalty of our customers: once a Moser, always a Moser and
indeed.... once a Wahl, always a Wahl

The strength of both suppliers lies in the professional machines. This sets them apart from the rest of the market in terms of power, shaving quality and service life.

Clipper. These Wahl corded models easily last 30 years with normal use and are actually

6. Adjustable or with attachment comb?
Adjustable
Most hair clippers have the ability to set the shaving length to the desired length from 0.7
to 3.5 mm (depending on the model).
This adjustment can be done in 2 ways. The most common is the adjustment lever on the left side of the cutting blade. This allows you to infinitely adjust the length.
There are also models where you set the length via a slider on the back of the blade. These then have a number of stages you can choose from. You are less flexible but you know always know exactly how short you shave it.
Mounting combs
In addition to adjusting the cutting blades, you can use attachment combs to further increase the shaving length. Most hair
hair clippers come with multiple attachment combs that you click/slide onto the machine. There are also models where a
attachment comb to sit. This allows you to shave various lengths with one comb.
Shave bald as short as possible?
Do you want to shave as short as possible? Then look at the Wahl Balding Clipper or the consumer version Wahl Close Cut Pro. These machines have extra thin blades that allow you to shave really super short. There is only no adjustment lever on these models. So if you want to vary, you will have to use attachment combs.

We often get asked what is the best trimmer for a beard. But for a long beard is a trimmer actually not suitable. This is because beard hair is the stiffest hair on your body. Therefore, a trimmer is usually not powerful enough.
Another disadvantage of trimmers is that they come with rather short attachment combs (usually up to 10 mm). This is obviously too short for a glorious beard. With clippers, you have the choice of attachment combs up to 3.6 cm.
So do you want to grow a beard longer than 1 cm? Then the best choice is a good pair of clippers. Below some recommendations.

Not replaceableWhat distinguishes a good clipper
There are many different brands and qualities on the market. But ask any serious hairdresser and they will always come up with the same names namely Wahl, Moser and Andis. Why is it that these brands are so much more and fame than other brands such as Babyliss, Philips, Braun, Remington?
The best steel
You can make hair clippers super strong, but if the blades are not good it will not be a pleasure to shave. And
there is a big difference. A good cutting blade can be sharpened sharp and stays that way. That is
possible only if you use high quality steel.
The knives of these major brands are made of good steel reinforced with carbon. This gives the knives a higher hardness and thus they stay sharp longer.
After this, the knives are sharpened. They are sharpened in triangles and get cutouts at the bottom that guide the hair to the blades.
How the cheaper brands do it
The other brands use significantly lower quality steel. In fact, this saves a lot of money.
Titanium, Ceramic and other marketing terms
Great marketing terms are often used to make the quality seem more than it is. For example, you
often read about titanium knives. Sounds nice but it is nothing more than a coating over the knife that quickly peels off
and disappears.
Some brands have hair clippers with ceramic cutting blades. Ceramic is much harder than steel. The blades would theoretically stay sharp much longer, but the high hardness also makes them much more brittle. In practice this therefore often means that pieces of the blades break off.
Sharpening
Sharpening is also saved on. In most cases, the teeth are punched in. This is of course not a
true sharpening method and will never shave as sharp and smooth as sharpened knives.
